Achieving angle-selective radiative heat transfer over a wide wavelength range!
Traditionally, when performing angle-selective radiative heat transfer, the energy transported is minimal. To achieve angle-selective radiative heat transfer, it is necessary to generate thermal radiation over a wide wavelength range, and materials for thermal radiators corresponding to that wavelength range are essential. However, if such materials are not readily available, it becomes impossible to apply thermal transport. Therefore, there is a demand for technology that can finely adjust the wavelength range of thermal radiation regardless of the materials used for thermal radiators. This invention makes it possible to provide a thermal radiation element capable of realizing thermal radiation at a predetermined angle over a wide wavelength range, as well as a thermal transport method using that thermal radiation element. The thermal radiation element of this invention comprises a first metal substrate, a dielectric film, and a plurality of second metal members arranged at a predetermined interval, with the width of the second metal members being between 4μm and 50μm. This allows for the realization of thermal radiation over a wide wavelength range with a large amount of energy.
